The Level 4 Diploma in Special Needs Education (SNE) is a specialized qualification aimed at educators, teaching assistants, and support staff who wish to deepen their expertise in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).  Program Units 
  • Module 1: Understanding Special Educational Needs (SEN) (30 Credits) This module provides a foundation in the various types of special educational needs, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and sensory impairments. Participants learn about the impact of these needs on learning and development and effective approaches to support students.

  • Module 2: Assessment and Identification in Special Needs Education (30 Credits) This module focuses on the principles and practices of assessing and identifying the needs of learners with SEND. It covers the use of various assessment tools, data interpretation, and the process of developing individualized support plans.

  • Module 3: Inclusive Teaching Strategies and Intervention (30 Credits) This module focuses on creating an accessible learning environment for all students. Topics include differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), adapting lesson plans to meet diverse needs, and implementing effective intervention strategies.

  • Module 4: Collaboration and Advocacy in Special Needs Support (30 Credits) This module examines the importance of working with families, other educators, and specialists. Topics include effective communication, teamwork, and understanding Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to support students with special needs, as well as advocating for inclusive practices.

 Diploma Requirements 

  • COURSE REQUIREMENTS

    • Once enrolled, you will be placed into a Whatsapp group with other students in your class for scheduling purposes.

    • Lesson schedule depends on the consensus of all students in the class and thus is flexible

    • To obtain your certification, you need to attend and pass all modules.

    • Each module consists of 1 online meeting followed by 3 weeks for you to complete your assignment.​

    • 1 test paper (to be completed online with a time limit on our portal)

    • 1 written thesis (Minimum 1,000 words)

    • 1 presentation to lecturer where necessary (scheduled online presentation)
