Program Units 

Teachers and aspiring teachers must study the following five core units:

• Child Development and Pedagogical Approaches – equips educators with essential knowledge about physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development in early childhood. Students will learn about major theories of child development and how to apply them in classroom settings.

• Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood Education – enables teachers to gain awareness and increased understanding of diversity in early childhood settings. Students will learn to create inclusive learning environments and develop culturally responsive teaching strategies.

​

• Curriculum Design for Early Years – provides an in-depth look at designing and implementing effective curricula for young children. Students will become familiar with play-based learning, developmentally appropriate practices, and how to plan engaging educational activities.

• Health, Safety, and Well-being in Early Childhood Settings – introduces key principles of maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for young children. Teachers will learn about managing common childhood issues, implementing safety procedures, and promoting overall well-being in educational settings.

​

• Assessment and Documentation in Early Childhood Education – This module builds upon teachers' knowledge of child development while introducing methods for observing, documenting, and assessing young children's learning and development. It also covers how to use assessment data to inform teaching practices.
